Chuan Chuen Golf Club, Bangkok, Thailand
Nick Faldo's Chuan Chuen has replaced Summit Pinehurst (Painfully slow pace of play, severely detoriating course conditions) in our list of top 20 courses in Bangkok.
No bells and whistles here but a surprisingly good layout which could get better if they invested a little capital into minor course improvements.
It's cheap, and while tee times are usually booked because of this, the pace of play isn't all that bad, fivesomes playing in around four and a half hours (compare 6 hour rounds with Pinehurst)
Why You Should Play Chuan Chuen Golf Club
Cheap, not far from Bangkok Golf Club, (close to airport) some great holes and if you smile at the staff you'll get one back. Nice experience and good value for money.
Don't go for the five star facilities because they don't have any. The lockers are a little in need of repair and upgrading, as is the entire clubhouse, but if you come for golf, you won't be disappointed.
